is it overall in decent shape? basically what i'm asking is it in good enough shape to change clutch/timing belt/water pump/gaskets and go? or does the head look all beat up and crap?

My ZC was beat to piss also when I got it. Valve cover dented and cracked "yes cracked!!",Timing belt cover was in pieces, and the engine was dirty as hell. Took me about a year to get everything looking good thanks to a few friends who had some parts laying around.

My ZC was in Real good shape... I had the T-belt changed with a few other thing... the mech that put it in said that the oil was still golden whe they changed it... the plugs looked brand new, and the water pump was in such good shape that they did not change it.
and best of all it was an auto !

It does not have a Flywheel it has a Torque plate ( a disk full of holes )

damn that's cool, you should have the heads shaved and all the big work done, then put it in the car......would be your best bet
